It has recently added three further categories. New to the training suite are: • Crawler Tractor Dozer • Tower Crane Luffing Jib • Slinger Signaller Categories already embedded into the training comprise: • 360 Excavator, wheeled and tracked • Wheeled Loading Shovel • Agricultural Tractor • Articulated Dump-truck • Tower Crane (saddle jib) • Crawler Crane • Mobile crane CPCS VACUUMEXCAVATOR (A78) - NEW ENDORSEMENTS AVAILABLE NOW The category of VacuumExcavator, introduced by CPCS on 10 June 2016 has recently had a periodic review carried out by an industry led working group. This has resulted in minor amends to the standards; in particular to the practical test. The working group also agreed to include two additional endorsements for the role of a Second Operator, which are as follows: • Endorsement G: LGV Semi-powered arm - Second Operator (Non-LGV Driver) • Endorsement H: LGV Fully-powered arm - Second Operator (Non-LGV Driver). These new endorsements were released by CPCS on 4 December 2017. As a reminder listed below are the existing endorsements for the category of Vacuum Excavator: A78A TRAILER - MANUAL ARM Mounted on a towed trailer and equipped with a hand-held suction hose A78B TRAILER - SEMI-POWERED ARM mounted on a towed trailer and equipped with a hydraulically- powered arm partially operated by both remote control and hand A78C NON - LGV MANUAL ARM mounted on an non-LGV-based vehicle chassis or a self-propelled item of plant (tracked or wheeled) and equipped with a hand-held suction hose A78D NON - LGV SEMI-POWERED ARM mounted on an non-LGV-based vehicle chassis or a self- propelled item of plant (tracked or wheeled) and equipped with a hydraulically-powered arm partially operated by both remote control and hand A78E LGV SEMI-POWERED ARM mounted on an LGV-based vehicle chassis and equipped with a hydraulically-powered arm partially operated by both remote control and hand A78F LGV FULLY POWERED ARM mounted on an LGV-based vehicle chassis and equipped with a hydraulically-powered For further information about CPCS visit the website: www.citb.co.uk/cpcs Endless real life opportunities The NCC simulators are so flexible any situation can be created. Facilities allow simulated activities between crane operators and slinger signallers which is an excellent base platform for learning about real life situations on site and as the training progresses the equipment allows learners to be stretched with even more complex activities and situations. Autumn and winter weather conditions, with shorter daylight hours, have seen the simulators invaluable within many strands of plant delivery. The collaboration possible between earthmoving categories continues to prepare delegates for life on site working in close proximity to other plant vehicles, working within partnerships (excavators and articulated dump-trucks) and further tasks completed as a team. New entrants to industry and employers are finding this invaluable in preparing learners for a variety of site applications due to the various scenarios available on the simulator systems. As industry continues with tilt rotation use within 360 excavator earthmoving activities, NCC supports with specific training for this. Training is available for both new operators entering industry and current experienced operators who wish to upskill their current skill set.
