Following consultation with several clients, Genair took the unprecedented step to equip and expand the company’s hire fleet with an additional 30 LEZ compliant air compressors which are ready to hire nationwide. The intention is to offer construction firms operating in the Greater London area and elsewhere, reduced air polluting equipment. The newmachines have been individually designed and built entirely to Genair specifications. Commenting on this latest investment, David Timmins, Genair’s Managing Director said: “We are an environmentally responsible company that aims to provide the latest innovative and sustainable equipment available in the market. We believe that workers, visitors and residents in the London area are entitled to breathe the cleanest air possible. Therefore we took the decision to equip our fleet with these new compressors to help lower the amount of air pollution generated from our equipment.” Genair Go for Clean Air A-Plant Asks Staff ‘Are You A OK?’ Leading plant, tool and equipment rental company A-Plant hosted its annual Safety Week in November 2018 and the focus was on mental health in the workplace. Featuring a series of mandatory briefings, digital presentations and activities, A-Plant’s awareness campaign ‘Are You A OK?’ aimed to remove the stigma surrounding mental health, whilst also providing the company’s 3,600 employees with a wealth of advice, guidance and general well-being tips. Douglas McLuckie, Director of Risk Management at A-Plant, said he hoped the initiative created greater understanding and carried the conversation surrounding mental health into the workplace. He said: “A-Plant’s commitment to health and safety extends to all areas of the business and our Safety Week shined a light on a topic that isn’t as widely discussed as it should be. Our ‘Are You A OK?’ campaign was structured to help facilitate a discussion around mental health, eliminating any awkwardness, in the hope that one day having a chat about mental health will be as normal as discussing an individual having a cold. “During the week- long initiative we distributed support leaflets, screening an emotive, specially filmed video that addresses the effects of mental health in the workplace and supplying service centres with a range of useful information. A-Plant already has an excellent track record for its health and safety performance from a wide range of industry bodies and we are committed to continually setting new standards for our employers, partners and the industries in which we operate,” he continued. A-Plant’s Safety Week also featured advice and expertise on how to prevent injuries among the teams carrying out the delivery and collection of the company’s core equipment, as well as encouraging people to consider driver loading/ unloading safe practice. The themes, which will also be reinforced throughout 2019, complement A-Plant’s ongoing health and safety initiatives, including the company’s Work Safe Home Safe campaign, which encourages teams to take personal responsibility for the way they work. A-Plant is a 10 time winner of the RoSPA Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety.
