www.cpa.uk.net CPA Bulletin > February 2019 65 RAIL PLANT ASSOCIATION: 2 Future Meetings By the time you get to read this update, our members should be well aware that our Annual General Meeting is to be held on the 27 February 2019 at the Nuthurst Grange Hotel in the West Midlands . At the time of writing the plans for the day have not been fully formulated but we are looking forward to being able to meet with many of our valued members and listen to the issues they are facing. The current committee have worked tirelessly for the good of the industry and the AGM will inform our debate going forward. Our members work in a difficult and challenging industry and their advice as to the principle issues is invaluable but if you are a member of the Association and wish to join the committee, please contact us urgently. We meet regularly with and have ongoing invitations to STE Operations at Network Rail and RSSB to keep us up to date with relevant developments. This year we hope to have members of RISQS and CIRAS join us as well as a representative of Mates in Mind which is a construction industry charity that engages in mental health issues. The committee have dialogue with numerous groups to try and keep up to date with the frequent changes to legislation and working practices. And that is without mentioning the unknown (at time of writing but maybe also at time of reading) effects of Brexit. Future Meetings Consequently as you can see from this article, the Rail Plant Association exists to help its membership comply with all the legislation thrown at it by the industry and has a distinct voice in helping to formulate those rules. We know that there are others outside our membership who might also benefit, not just from the information stream but by being able to input their concerns into the bigger melting pot.
