TRAINING: 1 www.cpa.uk.net CPA Bulletin > February 2020 29 TRAINING Construction continues to account for more workplace deaths than any sector other than farming, mining and quarrying, although the number of fatal accidents has thankfully fallen. Latest annual figures from the Health & Safety Executive show that 30 people were killed on construction sites between 2018/2019, down from 37 the previous year. Fatal accidents include: falls from a height, being struck by a moving vehicle, struck by a moving object, contact with moving machinery and becoming trapped by something collapsing/overturning. The impact of these deaths can have a devastating impact on family, friends and colleagues and can have serious consequences for businesses.
