They join ABBA’s extensive powered access and construction equipment rental fleet - including four JCB Access scissor lifts - which operates onmajor contracts across the East Midlands. One of the first jobs for the new booms was by the stunning Lincoln Cathedral. ABBA Plant Hire Manager, Nick Howe said: “We have bought JCB equipment for 40 years for the quality of its products and our faith in the brand. JCB continues to innovate and is always at the forefront of new technology. “The new JCB A45EHmodels mark a significant step forward. Being a hybrid boom, it gives dual utilisation, enabling indoor and outdoor operation, bringing great flexibility for hirers like ourselves and our customers “It is fantastic that JCB has successfully integrated access equipment into its already superb product range, and we hope it continues to develop new additions so we can expand our powered access offering with further JCBmodels.” The JCB A45EH is a high lift capacity, low-emission hybrid power articulated boom. It uses a 14.8kW three-cylinder diesel engine and a 7.5kWa generator to power the machine’s eight 6V batteries. Maximum platform height is 13.84m, with a horizontal reach of up to 7.47m, providing an up and over clearance of 7.48m. The lift capacity is 300kg and the machine is capable of climbing up to 40% gradients.
