60 CPA Bulletin > May 2018 www.cpa.uk.net work being done at the M&EE Networking Group, ISLG, TSA, Ballast Dust Working Group and CDG to name but a few. An interesting and informative presentation was provided by guest speaker Richard Sharp, Scheme Manager, on the development of the RISQS project; a topic, which brought intrigue and excitement on the promising changes ahead. A key agenda point towards the end of this meeting was to set clear objectives for the Management Committee to focus on for the next 12 months and, whilst there was clear recognition of the excellent work carried out so far, there was a clear consensus that further direction by senior managers from within RPA member companies is needed to drive further benefits for RPA members, and not just those with a health and safety or compliance theme. Pleasingly, and after a healthy debate, those senior managers present at the AGM recognised that this was needed and agreed to attend future Management Committee meetings to help steer the RPA into pastures new and areas with a significant benefit to all member companies in delivering quality products and services without undue commercial pressures. As the snow continued to fall, the Chairman closed the meeting and thanked everyone for contributing to an excellent day, but only after announcing his retirement as Chair of the RPA, a role he has held for the last two years. On behalf of the RPA, we would like to thank Mark Farnsworth for his contribution as Chair and wish him well for the future. Rail Plant Association: 2
