We’re inviting nominations for the CPA Lifting Technician of the Year award, sponsored by Liebherr, which is being introduced for the first time alongside the new Plant Operator category at the CPA Stars of the Future event. The lifting technician award has been made available to recognise the recent availability of the lifting technician trailblazer apprenticeship. It is open to any trainee or apprentice who as a main job role, operates a crane and undertakes slinging and signalling duties. The following eligibility criteria is applicable to this award. The nominee must: • Be employed as a crane operator on either a tower, crawler or mobile (wheeled) crane • Be on a recognised apprenticeship or formal training programme of at least 18 months duration for the occupation • Have already achieved, or be working towards, a relevant NVQ, SVQ or other form of formal occupational competence-based qualification • Be following a formal training programme with appropriate off-the-job training • Crane operation with at least one of the listed cranes forms a major element of the apprenticeship or training programme, supplemented by slinging and signalling activities Please make nominations by the closing date of 22nd May 2019 using the application forms available at https://www.cpa.uk.net/ starsdownloads/ All entries will be judged by a judging panel and the winner of each category will be announced at the CPA Stars of the Future on Wednesday 26th June 2019 at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Fillongley near Coventry.
