NEWS FROMCPA MEMBERS: 4 Plant hire specialist Selwood has partnered with Sure-Track to install vehicle monitoring technology across its fleet. Sure-Track will install its immobilisers, which are activated with a PIN code or radio frequency identification tag, in all machines it offers for hire. As well as preventing unauthorised use or theft, the system sends real-time information on the use of the vehicles to Selwood’s company-wide management system. Richard Bright, Chief Operating Officer at Selwood, said: “Safety and security is as important to Selwood as it is to our valued customers. Our partnership with Sure-Track will ensure that we have live, real time information on the location and use of our hired machines, prevent unauthorised use and enable our teams to schedule maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum.” Selwood offers an extensive plant hire fleet from its network of regional branches in Southampton, Bournemouth, Exeter, Sittingbourne, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham. The company specialises in providing niche services to the construction, remediation and recycling sectors and one of its long-term ambitions is to continuously increase the value and environmental performance of the regeneration and built environment process for clients. Not only do we pride ourselves on providing high quality recycling solutions and products, we want to be as efficient as possible during the process. “To that end it is vital for us to maintain a relentless level of investment in the latest plant and technology and that is why we have chosen the HB365LC-3 as our hybrid excavator of choice. The three we have recently taken delivery of have gone straight out onto our recycling site operations where they are loading crusher screeners with asphalt to produce a clean range of recycled aggregate product (RAP),” he continued. Milestone Camera Order fromLTC London Tower Cranes has purchased its 100th Blokcam camera system. Tower crane rental and distribution specialist LTC, part of the JRL Group, bought its first hook-block mounted camera system two years ago. Their level of experience is such that LTC now fits and support all its own systems. LTC attended Blokcam’s product training programmes.
