The Hire Exchange is the first hire industry specialist advisory, dedicated to connecting well-prepared sellers with well-informed buyers. It has been set up by David Graham, Ex Sales Director of Youngman and Ex Managing Director of Speedy Hire Plc, Josh Llewellyn, a well-known and highly respected supplier to the hire industry, Chris Harvey, a widely experienced hire industry brand and marketing specialist and Mark Woods (Chairman), a serial investor with a diverse background in IT, project management and PFI bids. The business provides a low-cost, low-risk and anonymous mechanism for sellers to showcase their business on a new online platform, and then, if required, provide an advisory service to prepare the business for sale, present the information the buyer needs in a structured and clear fashion and then find the right buyer. Josh Llewellyn said: “I have been involved directly and indirectly in many deals, both large and small and after 30 years in the business, I felt that it was not right that a person who had spent 20 to 30 years working away to grow a business should struggle to get a fair price and reap the rewards for their labour.” Launch of theHire Exchange 200 New JCBMachines for Ridgway Rentals In a deal with Gunn JCBworth £12million, Ridgway Rentals has invested in 200 new JCBmachines as part of the company’s ongoing fleet investment programme. The new tranche of investment includes tracked and wheeled excavators from 13 - 20 ton, materials handlers, wheeled loaders due to increasing demand in the waste and recycling sector and JCB telescopic handlers ranging from seven to 20 metre reach. Stuart Jones, Managing Director at Ridgway Rentals said: “Customers ask us for JCB equipment and often want a particular specification. Gunn JCB is both proactive and responsive to these needs plus they provide national support which is hugely important to us as we rent machines out on short and long-term hire throughout the UK.” Trime UK unveiled the company’s new X-Eco Hybrid lighting tower at the Executive Hire Show in February. The brand new unit is said to be a ground- breaking hybrid set which will significantly lower fuel consumption and C02 emissions, whilst continuing to deliver bright, safe lighting levels. The new Trime X-Eco Hybrid unit is powered by a combination of a series of lithium batteries and a small diesel engine. Lithium batteries have greater a charge efficiency which means the X-Eco Hybrid can be fully recharged in just two hours. Lighting rental specialists, Illumin8 handed Trime UK an order for 20 of the new X-Eco Hybrid lighting towers at the Executive Hire Show, plus an order for 40 of Trime’s X-Eco units.
