Cyber security covers many business areas, from simple password updates and access rights management, to firewalls and system upgrades. Rental software provider, MCS, takes on the burden of maintaining and managing hire businesses systems using MCS Cloud. By adopting the MCS Cloud solution, hire companies can take advantage of having a secure Crowdstrike firewall in place that will protect their business frommalicious attacks where intruders could steal, change, or destroy a company’s important business data or information. Brian Francis, MCS Technical Director, explains: “As a rental software supplier, we are always working to the highest standards to ensure our firewall is up-to-date and keeping our clients’ data safe. Working in technology, we see many instances where without the proper firewalls in place, disaster can strike, and businesses can struggle to get back up and running again. We offer our Cloud customers peace of mind that we will always make sure their data is safe from harm and they will be protected against Intrusion, Zero Day threats, Botnet detection and more.” Other precautions taken by the rental software supplier include an offsite database replication in a second location and daily backup processes. Looking after business data means also ensuring that if something happens to the building or a threat puts one of the data centres at risk, all data will still be safe and accessible. GKD Technologies has launched the first phase of its cloud-based, connected health and safety platform to allow organisations to make practical data driven decisions around improving safety in the workplace. SafetyZone brings together leading health and safety technologies and products to provide unique safety insights, making it the first of its kind in the industry. David Perez, CEO of GKD Technologies said: “First and foremost, we want to create a safe working environment and to protect people from harm. Our ambition for SafetyZone is to support our customers to fulfil their health and safety goals by giving them the visibility and insights to measure and track safety performance over time.” SafetyZone software is built around a secure, open, and flexible cloud-based platform capable of handling and ingesting large volumes of data frommultiple sources; this data is then aggregated and correlated to provide users with a view of safety that covers multiple dimensions and gives context to operational metrics, something that is often absent from traditional health and safety dashboards. This first phase of SafetyZone helps to identify intrusions by pedestrians into unsafe areas of mobile plant and equipment, areas of high risk onsite, near miss and machine issue or incidents. It enables users to proactively manage health and safety risk and run reports for use with wider stakeholder groups. GKD Technologies has also launched its new Series 2 and Series 3 range of Movement Limiting Devices and Rated Capacity Indicators, both of which have received Network Rail approval. Series 3 is designed specifically for the rail industry and builds on 20 years of experience supplying this highly regulated industry. The system includes Tandem Lift functionality and a variant for Mobile Elevated Work Platforms. GKD’s rated capacity indicators are the preferred system across the UK rail network, as over 75% of applicable machines registered with Network Rail have a GKD safety control solution fitted. The Series 2 range of products are designed specifically for the construction sector. They become the first GKD civils products to be Network Rail approved for use in either low performance or high performance zones, depending on specification. The range is ideal for use on sites where height, slew and load need to be monitored and controlled to keep people safe, protect machines and other infrastructure. NewProduct Launches for GKD
