www.cpa.uk.net CPA Bulletin > August 2019 23 CPA CONFERENCE 2019 With only a few months to go until the CPA Conference on Thursday 17th October 2019, preparations are well underway for the one-day event being hosted at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Fillongley near Coventry. The theme of the Conference is ‘Planting Resilience: Building for the Future’ and a packed programme of speakers will be discussing some of the construction industry’s most current and topical issues relating to how companies can deal with and overcome adversity, both now and in the future. The headline sponsor for the CPA Conference 2019 is Datatag. Speakers and experts from across both the plant-hire industry and further afield will be sharing their thoughts and insight on the issues facing the sector in 2019 and beyond. Paul Whitehead from Highways England will be giving a service user’s take on why we need to attract new talent into the industry, as well as retaining existing skillsets. Belinda Webster from Webster Technologies will be sharing her experiences and views on how the sector is changing and what opportunities there are for firms looking to innovate and there are a range of speakers looking at mental health in the industry and why it is important for construction to change. The Conference is being hosted by former television newsreader, presenter and journalist Merryn Myatt. Merryn’s television experience spanned 20 years and included presenting numerous BBC national news programme and debates, as well as ITV and Channel 4 documentaries, news programmes and other shows. She was also senior presenter on The Money Channel. This will be the fifth year that the CPA Conference has been held and it is becoming an essential entry in the calendar for senior figures in the plant-hire industry. Attendance is open to both CPA Members and Non-Members.
