Construction Hoist Interest Group (CHIG) The next Construction Hoist Interest Group Steering Committee and Open Meetings are due to take place on 7th and 8th October 2020 respectively but may be subject to change because of COVID-19 impact. Crane Interest Group (CIG) The last Crane Interest Group Steering Committee meeting took place on Thursday 2nd July 2020 utilising the Zoom online meeting platformwith the agenda for the meeting covering a range of topics including: • CAP 1096 Update • CPA Voluntary Roadworthiness Scheme Update • STGO Regulations Review • HSE Update • Update on GLA LEZ for Non-Road Mobile Plant • Stars of the Future 2020 Update • CITB Consensus • CIG Open Meeting Suction and Vacuum Excavator Special Interest Group (SAVE) Suction and Vacuum Excavator Steering Committee meetings are on hold due to COVID-19, with further updated information to follow. Shoring Technology Interest Group (STIG) The next Shoring Technical and Steering Committee meeting is on hold due to COVID-19, with further updated information to follow. Tower Crane Interest Group (TCIG) The (TCIG) Tower Crane Interest Group has conducted two meetings utilising the Zoom online meeting platform during this period. The first a TCIG interimmeeting took place on Wednesday 13th May with the agenda for the meeting covering the following topics: • COVID-19 update and the latest CPA position in relation to the Pandemic • Concerns arising around Temporary Works relating to Tower Crane structural supports on the job site • Update on CAP 1096 and subsequent revision of TIN 039 • Working at height - Safe operational distancing and the use of face masks • CPA COVID-19 publications update and Tower Crane specific guidance The second was a TCIG Steering Committee meeting that took place on Wednesday 3rd June with the agenda for the meeting covering the following topics: • Recent safety issues • TIN revisions and update: a) Update on revision of TIN 031 Bases and Ties b) Update on the Revision of TCIG 0701 Guidance on the Safe Use of Top Slew Tower Cranes • HSE Update • CAP 1096 Update
