To win the award, Mabey Hire had to demonstrate the health and safety management systems and policies in place and provide evidence on how it upholds its outstanding standards across all sites and locations. Recognising that health and safety is an ongoing commitment, Mabey Hire has continued to make conscious efforts to maintain and improve its policies and procedures. One such example is the Evotix reporting tool and mobile phone app, that has been rolled out within the company. Making it even easier for all staff to report potential hazards and/or risks, the app also encourages a more proactive approach to health and safety. Speaking about the achievement, Gordon MacDonald, CEO at Mabey Hire, said: “Being awarded the RoSPA President’s Award is a great, landmark moment for Mabey Hire. While health and safety is embedded in the business, it’s everyone’s responsibility to ensure it’s carried through and present in our everyday working practices.” Industrial and construction hoist manufacturer GEDA GmbH has launched a brand new portal - the GEDA BIM Centre. The platform offers a comprehensive range of GEDA hoist models and accessories as downloads in various file formats for use in BIM processes, but also for traditional computer-aided planning. The GEDA BIM Centre makes digital planning, coordination and construction process simulation very easy - and brings the networked ‘construction site of the future’ a big step closer. The portal is being expanded continuously, with more products and information added on a regular basis. The GEDA BIM Centre can be accessed as a guest with prior registration at bim.geda.de and it will soon be available at www.geda.de .
