Welcome and introduction from former television newsreader, presenter and journalist Merryn Myatt Experienced broadcaster and journalist and conference covenor, Merryn Myatt, welcomes attendees to the CPA Conference 2023, briefly outlining the day ahead. 9.45am Welcome from Stu McInroy, Chief Executive of the CPA Hear directly from CPA Chief Executive Stu McInroy as he addresses Conference for the first time in his new role. 10am Panel discussion: The Plant-hire Sector in 2023 An opportunity to hear directly from leading senior figures in the plant-hire industry, on the current state of the sector and how it is performing in 2023. The past few years have been unprecedented in terms of pressures and demands placed on the plant-hire sector; this panel discussion will showcase how the industry is performing and how the UK compares to its international peers. 10.45am Roving interview session 1 - Merryn Myatt interviews key exhibitors at the conference 11am Tea and coffee break 11.20am Panel discussion: Fuelling the Future With NetZero and decarbonisation now dominating the debate on the future of construction equipment, delegates will be able to hear frommembers and experts in the latest developments in alternative fuels, developments in diesel engines and how government policy is impacting on the sector. 12.05pm Roving interview session 2 with Merryn Myatt 12.20pm Lunch 1.20pm Panel discussion: Focus on CPA Special Interest Group and Challenges The CPA’s Special Interest Groups cover a range of different areas and interests in the construction plant-hire sector. This discussion will see members from several leading Special Interest Groups discuss their work, the challenges they face, and how the sector is responding to issues such as high fuel prices, skills, equipment shortages and external pressures. 2pm Roving interview session 3 with Merryn Myatt 2.15pm Panel discussion: Combatting plant theft and fraud Stolen equipment and fraud remains a major concern and issue for CPA members, but how thieves operate is constantly evolving. This discussion will see industry experts and commentators showcase new and emerging threats and how criminals are finding new and innovative ways at targeting companies. 3pm Estimated conference close EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITIES www.tobinplant.co.uk The conference will run alongside a small, targeted exhibition.
