30 CPA Bulletin > August 2023 www.cpa.uk.net ESTA: 1 ESTA ESTA is delighted to welcome Madrid-headquartered Transportes y Grúas Aguado as a new Special Member fromSpain. A family company with almost five hundred employees, it was started in 1982, initially working mostly in and around Madrid. Today, the company works across Spain and throughout Europe - mainly in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and France - and also in Mexico, Colombia, Perú, Chile and South Africa. It runs a fleet of around 180 cranes along with 60 lines of SPMTs and conventional and special transport equipment plus a heavy load railway wagon. It has also built specialist expertise in the wind industry. The company’s Wind Academy is a training provider certified by GWO, the Global Wind Organisation and it has invested in Haizea Wind, an industrial group focussing on the design, manufacture and assembly of large structures for wind turbines. Transportes y Grúas Aguado: ESTA’s special member from Spain ESTA has launched a members-only English-language version of the CO2 calculator developed by Dutch crane association VVT. It is available to ESTA members via the ESTA website. The tool will allowmembers to calculate the CO2 production of specified equipment when executing a project including the work involved in mobilisation and demobilisation. The calculator has been created by the company Emission Insight and all ESTA members - that is to say, all member companies of ESTA member associations - along with special members and supporters can apply for a three-month free access period. Companies sign up via the registration form on the ESTA website and receive an exclusive ESTA access code. This code allows three months’ free access to the Emission Insight Dashboard. After the three month trial, ESTA members are eligible for a discounted subscription. The dashboard helps calculate a fleet’s carbon dioxide [CO2], nitrogen [NOx] and particulate matter [PM] emissions on a project-by-project basis. Companies can compare the optimal deployment of machines and apply effective emission reduction strategies, as well as gaining insight into the impact of purchasing new machines. The Emission Insight Dashboard not only helps reduce a company’s carbon footprint, but also aids compliance with environmental legislation and standards. Keeping accurate emissions data makes it easier to report to regulators and pass any audits. Emission Insight provides services to any company operating in normal and specialised road transport, heavy lifting and construction for all types of industries. It can calculate emissions from all powered vehicles and equipment using a validated model. ESTA Director Ton Klijn said: “It is already a common requirement to compare the CO2 output of the various operational options of executing a project, so companies need to have a simple and reliable method of calculating their CO2 production when quoting for a project.” Further information is on the ESTA website at https://estaeurope.eu/co2-calculator/ or on the Emissions Insight website at https://www.emissioninsight.com/en/ impact-csrd-duurzaamheidsrapportage/ Any member that does not know their ESTA membership number should contact Caroline van Geest in the ESTA Office at officemanager@estaeurope.eu ESTA launches CO2 calculator - free trial for members and supporters
