CPA Bulletin

www.cpa.uk.net CPA Bulletin > November 2021 27 the very real concerns members have about the practicalities of the move. We have called for a degree of pragmatism and realism in what is being asked of the plant-hire and broader construction industry in making this switch and the impact it will have on day-to-day operations. We want the authorities to recognise that members dealing with this, as well as the everyday challenges of running a business and meeting the needs of clients and customers, should be treated sympathetically and with understanding on what these measures mean and how they are implemented and enforced. To help achieve the UK’s net zero emissions target, it’s vital that the construction plant sector and the wider construction industry play our collective part in the overall, significant reduction of carbon emissions. CPA is becoming increasingly engaged on the change programme required. As well as bringing forward solutions, we have the principal role in ensuring that all proposals and plans are realistic, achievable and evidence-driven, and are sustainable for CPA Members’ businesses. We are now recruiting a Technical Officer to support our Members on all aspects of net zero carbon and emissions in the construction plant sector. The ideal candidate will have experience and understanding of construction plant as well as knowledge of current legislation and developments in carbon reduction and emissions reduction. The post is full time and permanent. Any interested parties can contact Kevin Minton direct at kevin.minton@cpa.uk.net Job Vacancy at CPA NET ZERO CARBON - TECHNICAL OFFICER
