www.cpa.uk.net CPA Bulletin > November 2022 31 A Spiky Affair GEDA hoist solutions have been used to support the construction of the Kaktus Towers in the Danish capital of Copenhagen. The Kaktus Towers house 495 apartments and are so called because the balconies on the towers protrude like pointy spines and make the towers appear like two cactus plants from the outside. Before the unique structure was completed, LM Byg A/S had to erect the shell. Two GEDA Multilift P22 Premium Hoists were hired out by TS Platform & Hejs for smooth and efficient vertical transport of bulky and heavy goods. When the shell was completed, work on the complex façade began and the buildings received their unique look. GEDA’s Multilift P22 Premium Hoists have a high load capacity of up to 2,000 kg or 22 passengers, and move very quickly with a lifting speed of 54 m/min. Despite the high load capacity, the hoist can travel on only one mast, the GEDA VARIO mast system. It has a transport height of up to 200m - more than enough for the 80m transport height for the construction of the towers. Hyundai Launches New Stage V Mini Excavator Range Hyundai Construction Equipment has updated its midi andmini excavator offer, with the launch of a comprehensive range of award-winning EU Stage Vmachines. With operating weights of 1.7 to 5.5 tonnes, the A Series mini excavators are designed to deliver lower emissions, increased hydraulic capabilities and improved operator comfort. Features include distinctive ‘Tiger Eye’ design language, a load- sensing hydraulic system for models over 4 tonnes, proportional joystick controls as standard, along with quick-coupler piping and safety valves on boom, arm and dozer blade cylinders, and a large, quiet cab, tilting on models above 3.5 tonnes, delivering excellent service access. Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe has introduced a comprehensive range of eight machines, from 1.7-5.5 tonnes, of which four were showcased at Bauma. As part of the new range, the HX35A Z, the HX40A and the HX48A Z have been recognised as winners of the Red Dot Design Award, from Design ZentrumNordhein Westfalen in Germany. Centered around the Tiger Eye lighting theme at the rear of the machines, the excavators have also been praised for their eco-friendly features and ease of operation. All Hyundai mini excavators benefit from an EU Stage V compliant diesel engine, reducing exhaust emissions and boosting fuel economy for the customer. NEWS FROMCPA MEMBERS: 2
