Construction Hoist Interest Group (CHIG) The last Construction Hoist Interest Group steering committee and open meetings took place on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd October 2024 respectively at the Heart of England Conference & Events Centre, Meriden Road, Fillongley, CV7 8DX, with the meeting agendas covering a range of topics including: • HSE Update • CHIG Publications and Guidance Update • BS7212 Revision Update • EN 12159 and EN 16719 Update • Electrical Supply Issues • Hoist Accident - Sweden Incident • IPAF Update • Hoist Installer Course • Rescue from Height on Hoists Update • CHIG Levy • CHIG Code of Conduct Crane Interest Group (CIG) The last Crane Interest Group meeting took place as a joint open meeting event with the Tower Crane Interest Group on Thursday 12th September 2024 during the Vertikal Days Show at the Newark Showground, with the meeting agenda covering a range of topics including: • Tower Crane Electrical Supply Issues - RCD’s • Tendering, Management & Operations of Tower Cranes • Network Rail Guidance for Mobile and Tower Cranes Alongside Railways • Guidance for Assessing the Correct Rigging of Mobile and Crawler Cranes Update • Abnormal Loads/Embargo/ Police Enforcement Challenges Suction and Vacuum Excavator Special Interest Group (SAVE) The next Suction and Vacuum Excavator steering committee meeting will be communicated once agreed and confirmed by the group, with the meeting format and venue confirmed at a later date prior to the meeting.
