Construction Hoist Interest Group (CHIG) The CHIG Steering Committee and open meetings took place at The Oak Hotel, Hockley Heath, on 9th and 10th October 2019 respectively. Crane Interest Group (CIG) The CIG open meeting took place at the Nuthurst Grange Hotel, Hockley Heath, on Wednesday 18th September 2019 with the agenda for the meeting covering a wide range of topics including: • The CPA Voluntary Roadworthiness Scheme • Technical and Standards update (a) Thorough Examination of Mobile Cranes after rigging at site (b) Brake testing on Mobile Cranes (c) Mobile Cranes in arboriculture - Arboricultural Association Guidance (d) Notification of Cranes near airfields (e) Machinery Directive and Brexit (f) European and British standards - EN13000, BS7121 • GLA LEZ for Non-Road Mobile Machinery - Changes in 2020 • Restrictions on Crane Movements • CPA Model Conditions review 2019-2021 • Trailblazer Apprenticeship update • Stars of the Future update The next CIG Steering Committee meeting will take place in the first quarter of 2020 with the date and venue to be confirmed. Suction and Vacuum Excavator Special Interest Group (SAVE) The next Suction and Vacuum Excavator Steering Committee meeting is proposed to take place in the final quarter of 2019 with the date and venue to be confirmed. Shoring Technology Interest Group (STIG) The last Shoring Technical and Steering Committee meeting took place at the Nuthurst Grange Hotel, Hockley Heath on Tuesday 8th October 2019 with the agenda for the meeting covering a range of topics including: • CITB update and Shoring Training provision in the UK • Progress update on Technical Guidance and TINs • Management of Shoring Part 3 update • Revisions to Parts 1 and 2 • Future guidance development and revisions • Promotion of the Shoring Technical Interest Group • CPA Model Conditions update The next Shoring Technical and Steering Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday 22nd January 2020. Tower Crane Interest Group (TCIG) The last TCIG open meeting took place at Nuthurst Grange Hotel, Hockley Heath, on Wednesday 16th October 2019.
